  • My path to becoming a therapist was inspired by a lifelong interest in understanding human behavior. Volunteering at a national suicide hotline during college solidified my commitment to helping individuals navigate life's challenges. In graduate school, I seized opportunities to work with children, teenagers, and families. My Chinese background uniquely positions me to connect with immigrant families, and my personal experience in an American high school informs my understanding of adolescent struggles. I'm dedicated to continuous self-improvement and strive to offer diverse perspectives, empowering individuals to discover their resilience and navigate their unique journeys.

My intake process involves actively listening to each client's unique story, gaining a comprehensive understanding of their world.   • My favorite clients and those with whom I work best are individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, seeking support through various life challenges. I am particularly drawn to clients who are interested in a trauma-informed approach, as I have both experience and a genuine enjoyment in assisting them through the process of trauma recovery. Witnessing the resilience of individuals who have experienced trauma and seeing them flourish is incredibly rewarding.

    I also find great fulfillment in working with clients navigating changes and transitions. While these shifts may initially seem daunting, I view them as opportunities for breakthroughs, and I'm passionate about guiding clients through this transformative process.

I appreciate individuals who are open to exploring their feelings, as well as those who are committed to personal development and the pursuit of self-actualization.   • As a provider, my commitment to continuous learning and competency-building is reflected in recent training completion in "Triple P," a comprehensive parenting and family support system. This program is designed to accompany parents at every stage of their journey, offering valuable guidance and support to foster positive family environments. With a focus on preventing and treating behavioral and emotional challenges in children and teenagers, "Triple P" aligns seamlessly with my trauma-informed and strength-based approach, enhancing the tools at my disposal to assist families effectively.

    In addition to formal training, I actively pursue independent learning, immersing myself in literature on psychoanalytic and couples therapy. Looking ahead, I am eager to expand my expertise by undergoing training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Furthermore, my interest in mindfulness and holistic approaches has sparked curiosity in exploring Gestalt therapy. Collaboration with other providers remains a fundamental aspect of my professional growth. Engaging with diverse perspectives and therapeutic modalities through collaboration ensures a well-rounded approach to client care. This collective effort not only enriches my understanding but also enables me to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field, ultimately benefiting my clients through the provision of informed and effective interventions tailored to their unique needs.
