she, her, hers
Have you ever found yourself wondering why it feels so hard to truly connect—whether with a partner, a friend, or even yourself? Do you notice patterns that keep repeating in your relationships, leaving you frustrated and drained? Do you long to break free from old wounds and the struggles that hold you back from feeling fully seen and accepted?
In therapy, we will explore these questions together and uncover what’s underneath. My role is not to provide quick answers; instead, I walk alongside you as you discover how your history shapes the way you relate to others and yourself. We'll trace these patterns back to their source, understand why you might “always find the same person with different faces,” and support you in shifting old responses like withdrawing, people-pleasing, or lashing out. We will focus on building an inner steadiness where you can choose how to connect with vulnerability and authenticity, allowing you to develop and maintain healthy relationships in your life.
You already possess the strength needed to heal. We will honor the resilience that has gotten you this far and approach any past pain with care. Together, we will help you access that deep inner strength, cultivate profound self-acceptance, and reclaim your agency. The chapters of your life are ultimately yours to write. And your new story does not need to be confined by your old narrative.

About Elizabeth
-
I’ve always been drawn to understanding how people make meaning of their experiences, and how upbringing, identity, relationships, and culture influence the way we see ourselves. Guided by this curiosity, I practice with a relational, psychodynamic approach for therapy--exploring past and present experiences to foster insight, healing, and growth. As a former international student, I understand the challenges of acculturation and living as a racial minority in a foreign country. My experience in both community mental health and private practice has given me extensive work with immigrant populations and people with complex trauma background, sharpening my ability to provide culturally attuned, trauma-informed care.

Working with me is collaborative, relational. Our therapeutic relationship itself is part of the healing process—we explore how you connect with others, patterns in your relationships, and how past and present interactions influence your emotions and behaviors. In our first several sessions, we’ll get to know each other, discuss your concerns, and set goals together. Progress is reflected in your growth, increased self-awareness and acceptance, and the ability to navigate challenges more effectively. Depend on your goals and readiness, I may suggest exercises between sessions.

I work best with clients who are curious about themselves and their relationships, and who would like to explore emotions, patterns, and past experiences. In their own words, they often seek greater self-understanding, a stronger sense of identity, healthier relationships, and emotional balance. They may want to feel more connected to themselves or navigate life challenges with confidence and resilience. I would like to support clients who are willing to reflect, take small steps toward change, and engage collaboratively in the therapy process.

I believe therapy may not always feel comfortable or easy, as we might face our deepest fears, experience intense emotions, navigate the uncertainty of change, or confront patterns that feel stuck. Change may not happen immediately, but when it does, it can be deep and long-lasting. I see the therapeutic relationship as a key tool for growth, helping clients explore these challenges safely and collaboratively.

I participate in continuing education and specialized trainings, including emotion-focused therapy. I'm also very interested in other experiential approaches including EMDR and IFS and applying these approaches with a culturally responsive lens.
